Viareggio, Castiglioncello and San Vincenzo are options for a rail-based beach day. Check the walk from the station to your chosen beach and the last train home. Plan Baratti’s final connection separately; arriving by rail does not put you on the sand.
Check beach-club opening and reservations for your dates; services may be seasonal. Use the forecast for your exact coastal town and check wind, waves and local beach notices. If conditions are poor, choose a sheltered café or an indoor visit in Livorno instead.
Before driving, locate a signed car park and check the walking route from it. Do not follow navigation through a restricted-traffic zone (ZTL). Allow time for slopes, steps and breaks; a short distance does not guarantee an easy walk.
