Transport

La Spezia Centrale, buses & piers

La Spezia Centrale is the main rail starting point for Cinque Terre trips. Waterfront boat departures require a separate walk or local connection. Porto Venere has no railway station; Lerici also needs a road or seasonal sea connection. Use ATC for local buses and the ferry operator’s current timetable, with a land return if boats are cancelled.

La Spezia’s own city day

Choose one museum, Via del Prione and a proper food pause. Lia and San Giorgio are alternatives when time or energy is limited, rather than two compulsory museum visits.

Farinata and gelato in the centre

The named Via Magenta and Piazza Verdi branches make it possible to plan a short food sequence without confusing the brand’s other locations with your walking route.

A softer lower-city day

Keep the centre and waterfront as the base of a flexible day. Add the Lia Museum only when its opening fits, and leave the castle climb for a different plan.
