Levanto

Use Levanto for its bay, old streets, Sant’Andrea and the Maremonti path. Bonassola adds a separate village-and-headland day with its own station, church and meal stop. Choose the time and effort that fit the visit rather than treating every coastal place as one walk.

Levanto, Liguria

A beach base with the railway close by

Levanto offers a bay, a compact historic centre and a railway gateway for the eastern coast. Bonassola has its own railway station and lower village beyond the Maremonti link. Stay with one centre for a short visit; choose the tunnel path as an additional outing when its access and your available time suit.

Sant’Andrea

The striped medieval church gives the old centre a clear focus and a quieter rhythm than the seafront. Pair it with the Loggia and surrounding lanes.

Maremonti and an evening in Levanto

A short out-and-back walk on Maremonti, then the bay and an optional evening food stop in Levanto. The 14:00–16:00 walking window includes the return; it is not two hours of walking away from town.

Transport

Check the exact regional train stops for Levanto or Bonassola and the return journey. Bonassola is not a stop on every faster train. The Maremonti walking and cycling connection is a separate choice with current-access checks; it does not replace rail planning by default.

Village, beach, church and headland access have different conditions. The Bonassola chapel is described by the municipality as an exterior-viewing stop, with barriers on the approach. Route hours are examples after arrival, not opening hours, beach service or transport departures.

Food & local flavours

In Levanto, use the existing pastry and meal guides for the old-town day. In Bonassola, al Sant’Andrea at Via Giacomo Matteotti 4 is an evening restaurant: the operator publishes Tuesday–Sunday service from 19:00 to 22:30 and a Monday closure. Plan dinner separately and confirm the current service, menu, cost and return journey.
